Patriots 38, Bills 30

Tom Brady completed 21-of-27 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns as the New England Patriots outlasted the Buffalo Bills, 38-30, on Sunday.

Randy Moss caught a pair of touchdowns and BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for 98 yards and a score for the Patriots, who have won 14 in a row against the Bills.

Buffalo entered the game last in the NFL in total yards but had little trouble moving the ball on the New England defense, scoring on four of their five possessions before the break. The Bills took the lead in the second quarter when they turned a fumble recovery on the Patriots’ 37-yard line into a 7-play drive capped by Ryan Fitzpatrick’s 5-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Spiller to make it 13-7.

New England responded with its own touchdown on Danny Woodhead’s 22-yard rush up the middle and the teams traded field goals to send the Patriots into the break with a 17-16 lead.

Brady came out on fire in the third quarter, tossing a 35-yard touchdown pass to Moss on the opening drive and throwing to Rob Gronkowski for a score later in the period. Buffalo responded to the first score with Spiller’s 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

The Patriots made it 38-23 on Green-Ellis’ touchdown in the fourth before Fitzpatrick found Steve Johnson on a 37-yard strike to close it to 38-30 with 4:08 left in the game. But Fitzpatrick was picked off by Brandon Meriweather with 2:58 left to put it away.
