As if mixing and matching your DFS plays weren’t hard enough in the playoffs, we are down a game tonight with just three on tap. That’s ok, however, because game three means that we will see a shift in game strategies. Adjustments made in games one and two will now need to be tweaked further as the last change changes hands.
As was the case in most series, the second game went to the team trailing in the matchup – this was rather predictable based on percentages and historical playoff behavior. But what does game three bring? We have one home dog, but do you feel safe betting against the Penguins at home after their last performance? Can the home crowd motivate the Jets to get back in the series and topple the Anaheim behemoth? Can Minnesota return to its stifling ways or will St. Louis’s offense keep rolling? It’s time to dive in to each game to investigate the cash and GPP game opportunities.
Playoff Series Notes:
- In game two, we saw the Penguins make adjustments and Sidney Crosby take charge to even up the series
- Evgeni Malkin has been quiet, but Crosby’s most recent resurgence should draw some attention away from Malkin. The New York defense is deep, but Pittsburgh will control the matchups in game three
- The Penguins have a seriously depleted defense without Christian Ehrhoff and Derrick Pouliot (not to mention Letang), which has led to increased chances for the Ranger top six
- Marc-Andre Fleury is always risky because he can bounce between shutout and blowout so quickly, but returning to home ice should benefit his game tonight. In GPP’s, MAF should be considered
