Playing Daily Fantasy Hockey on FanDuel tonight? In the Powerplay article today we’ll cover a lot of areas to assist in your research and make strong lineups to win your games. Included in the article are game analysis, top teams to target, recommended plays and sample lineups.
The NHL has a large 11-game schedule today, the final night of action before a three-day holiday break. There are a few teams that stand out as the best targets for your cash game lineups, and as always with 10 or more games there are lots of good choices for your GPP tournament lineups. Let’s go through a lot of information and data to help piece together the puzzle for tonight.
Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey
Chicago Blackhawks – The Blackhawks have been the league’s best team this month with their offense really clicking lately. Star forwards Patrick Kane (10 points in past six games) and Jonathan Toews (six points in past four games) are really hot, and getting at least one of them in your cash game lineups is a good way to start it. The supporting cast of Patrick Sharp, Brandon Saad, Kris Versteeg and Duncan Keith are also targets for tournament stacks.
Dallas Stars – Dallas is rolling lately and scoring well, especially at home (with at least three goals in 8/9 of their last home games). The duo of Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn has continued to be stellar, and have combined for eight points in their last two games. Although Dallas is mostly a one-line team for their offensive production, whoever plays with those two during regular strength or on the powerplay is also worth using in your lineups. Tonight that list includes Jason Spezza, Cody Eakin and Trevor Daley.
TOP GOALTENDER PLAYS
Petr Mrazek ($7,200) – Mrazek is again filling in for injured Jimmy Howard tonight and is an ideal VALUE goaltender option tonight. He’s been great this year (2.24 goals against average, .927 save percentage) and has an excellent matchup at home to Buffalo. At his price, Mrazek is definitely the best option for tournaments tonight, and he could even be considered for cash game lineups.
TOP CENTER PLAYS
Tyler Seguin ($8,800) – Seguin seems like a strong recommendation every night due to his consistency (42 points, 131 shots in 32 games played) and big game upside (e.g. a monster game on Sunday with two goals, 13.1 FanDuel points), and that continues this evening. Out of all the Centers at the $8K and up range, Seguin is the best choice out of the bunch. He is a recommended play for both cash games and tournaments.
Scott Laughton ($3,000) – Rookie Laughton has been playing on the Flyers' second scoring line with skilled players Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn. While his production hasn’t been consistent this year, he has the ability to put up the occasional solid game (e.g. games with 7.4 and 8.5 FanDuel points in his last five), and at minimum salary he makes a good VALUE or PUNT play, especially for tournaments.
