Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey

New York Islanders – The Islanders are one of the league’s best home teams (19-6-0) and are second in goals per game on home ice. The Islanders are on a three game winning streak overall, and they play Columbus tonight, who travelled to New York after a game in Philadelphia last night. Columbus has been giving up plenty of goals with starting goaltender Bobrovsky hurt and the Islanders should score at least a few tonight. The Isles’ top line of John Tavares, Anders Lee and Josh Bailey are the players to target. The group struck for two goals last game (both by Lee), and they’re in a great spot to score again tonight.

Pekka Rinne ($9,400) – There is no shortage of great goaltending options to consider for daily fantasy hockey tonight. Deciding between these high priced choices is a bit difficult, and we’ll pick Rinne out of the pack facing a weak Devils team who played (and lost) last night in Chicago. Rinne has been outstanding all season and especially in the past week with 3 wins, only 5 goals against and at least 7 FanDuel points in each game.

TOP DEFENSEMEN PLAYS

Shea Weber ($6,500) and Roman Josi ($5,800) – The Predators rank amongst the top offensive teams this year and the defense pairing of Weber and Josi is a major reason why. Both are amongst the top 6 in defensemen scoring on the season and have been great plays in daily fantasy throughout the year. Josi has been the more consistent of the two and a better play for cash game lineups.

Ryan Suter ($3,700) – Suter is the Wild’s top defenseman and powerplay quarterback, which gives him plenty of opportunities to hit the scoresheet. He’s done that regularly over the past 10 games with eight points. With a good matchup tonight and a low salary, Suter makes a great VALUE play.

Tyler Toffoli ($6,100) – Toffoli is coming off a monster game with a hat trick, an assist, six shots and a plus three rating (16.4 FanDuel points). This was preceded by two games scoring a goal, and Toffoli is now on a major hot streak. The Capitals have given up nine goals in their past three games and it may be tough to slow down Toffoli and the Kings tonight.
