There is a moderately sized six game NHL schedule on Wednesday night that includes several of the league’s best teams in action. Unlike many nights with this many games or more, there are not many teams that stand out as definitive targets for building your daily fantasy lineups. That said, by digging a little deeper winning lineups can be made for both cash games (50/50s, head-to-heads) and GPP tournaments.
Today’s article will provide analysis for the teams in action, top teams to target for daily fantasy, recommend players for FanDuel, and even sample lineups that could be used to help build ones for tonight’s play.
Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey
Chicago Blackhawks – The Blackhawks are the clear top team for Wednesday night, even facing a Wings team that has a similar record to them. The Hawks are at home where they are 3-0-2 in their past five games, and capable of scoring a handful of goals, even against good teams. Both of the Blackhawks’ top lines have been scoring regularly lately and could be stacked in separate tournament lineups, while for cash games it would be good to get a player from each line.

TOP GOALTENDER PLAYS
Corey Crawford ($8,600) – On a night without a lot of stand out goaltending options, Crawford is the best one overall and a good choice for both cash game and GPP lineups. Crawford has had another great season in goal (23 wins, 2.26 GAA, .922 SvPct) and is coming off two very strong games. Chicago is a good sized favorite at home in this matchup, and we can expect another solid performance from Crawford with a win and two goals or less. The Red Wings have lost three straight games and Crawford and the Hawks will look to make it four in a row tonight.
Malcolm Subban ($5,000) – <GPP ONLY, CONFIRM THAT HE IS STARTING> Tonight might be the night for Malcolm Subban to make his long awaited NHL debut for the Bruins. Boston just called him up and might have picked this spot specifically to give the rookie his first NHL game. The younger Subban brother is a first round pick from 2012 and has had two very strong seasons in the minors. At a minimum salary tonight and facing a weak Oilers team, Subban is definitely worth a flier for GPP tournaments.
TOP RIGHT WINGER PLAYS
Corey Perry ($9,200) – If there is one top player that you should pay up for tonight, Perry is the one. Once again Perry is among the league leaders in points and shots on goal, and that makes him a reliable player for cash game lineups on a regular basis. He also has the ‘big game upside’ you look for as a tournament play, either stacked with his linemates, or on his own.
TOP CENTER PLAYS
Sean Monahan ($3,600) – Until FanDuel raises Monahan’s salary above this low price, he’s a “plug and play” on most nights. That is especially the case when he is playing at home, where he has registered 22 of the 38 points he has this year. Monahan is a great fit tonight as part of a Flames stack in tournaments, or as a single fill-in player to complete a lineup.
