There is a large 11 eleven game slate of NHL games on Saturday, with two afternoon games that could be high scoring (and great GPP targets for those playing “All Day” games), and nine games in the evening that feature some high scoring teams but no big favorites. This is the type of day where it’s good to get exposure to several teams in cash game lineups, and there are many different teams as good targets to stack for tournament lineups.
Today’s article will provide analysis for the teams in action, top teams to target for daily fantasy, recommend players for FanDuel, and even sample lineups that could be used to help build ones for tonight’s play.
Recommended Plays for FanDuel
TOP GOALTENDER PLAYS
Carey Price ($10,200) – There are 11 games on Saturday but despite that there is a definite lack of strong goaltending options for daily fantasy hockey. Price is the one goalie though that clearly stands out as a top target for your cash games. Price has been one of the best goaltenders all season long (32 wins, 1.93 GAA, .934) and is in a great position for another great game tonight, at home to Columbus.
Andrew Hammond ($5,400) & Keith Kinkaid ($5,300) – Both of these VALUE goaltenders are GPP tournament only options and could give a lot salary relief for loading up on offense. Hammond had a monster game in his first career start on Wednesday, holding the Canadiens to two goals on 44 shots and coming away with the win. He’ll get another start tonight at home to Florida, and could come up big again. For Kincaid, a quick look at his season numbers and they don’t look that impressive. However, if you look closer you’ll see that he’s been extremely better at home than on the road, and he has a great matchup at home tonight against the Hurricanes.
TOP DEFENSEMEN PLAYS
Erik Karlsson ($6,800) – Karlsson is the hottest defenseman in hockey lately with four straight multi-point games. Karlsson leads all defensemen in shots on goal, and he’s close to the lead in goals and points. If he continues to put up points at this pace he’ll be in first place by the end of the month.
TOP LEFT WINGER PLAYS
Alex Killorn ($4,000) – Killorn was recently moved up to Tampa Bay’s top line (with Steven Stamkos and Ryan Callahan), and he also skates on the team’s top powerplay unit. Considering his spots on these lines, he’s in a great position to hit the scoresheet, and that has been the case in three of the past four games.
