Daily FanDuel Fantasy Hockey Picks: Feb 7, 2015

A large 11-game Saturday schedule takes place today, with a couple early games (3pm and 5pm EST) and nine evening ones. There are a large number of high powered offensive teams in action and it could make for a lot of goals today, and this always makes things fun for daily fantasy hockey. The key to winning in FanDuel today will be narrowing things down to find the best teams and players to target for all game types, and this article should help with that.

Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey

Dallas Stars – The Stars have been amongst the league’s best scoring teams all season long (tied for second in goals), and they’ve often gone off for 5+ goals. Their matchup couldn’t be better facing Buffalo tonight, and the Stars are clearly the top team to target. The players on top powerplay unit are the key ones to look at, including Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, Patrick Eaves, Jason Spezza and John Klingberg. You’ll want to get a couple of those players in your cash game lineup, and stack them in at least one tournament lineup. In addition to those players, there is some value in targeting the secondary players on Dallas also, including Erik Cole, Ales Hemsky, Colton Sceviour, Trevor Daley and Alex Goligoski.

Recommended Plays for FanDuel

TOP DEFENSEMEN PLAYS

John Klingberg ($4,900) – Klingberg has four goals and seven points in his last four games, and continues to anchor the Stars’ high scoring powerplay unit. The Stars play in Buffalo tonight and face the league’s worst team for goals against and penalty kill percentage (as well as last in many other categories). Klingberg is worth using in any game format tonight.

TOP CENTER PLAYS

Steven Stamkos ($8,300) – The Center position is loaded today with a lot of high priced players in good spots for big games. For the “All Day” games on FanDuel, Stamkos is a great play for a potential multi-point game at home to Los Angeles. The Kings have been a very different team on the road this year, and giving up a lot of goals. The Lightning are coming off a big 5-3 win on Thursday night and their offense has been rolling all season long, led largely by Stamkos and his big offensive totals.

Tyler Bozak ($3,700) – The Leafs players are seldom recommended these days, however they are actually favored tonight at home to Edmonton, and they are a team to play in tournaments at least. Bozak centers the Leafs' top line and his salary has fallen so low that he is now a great VALUE play on some nights. Bozak scored last night and could repeat that and/or setup linemates Phil Kessel and James van Riemsdyk for a goal.
