Preparing to play Daily Fantasy Hockey tonight? In the Powerplay article today we’ll cover a lot of areas to assist in your research and make strong lineups to win your games on FanDuel.
The NHL has a large 10 game schedule tonight, with a lot of intriguing matchups. For daily fantasy hockey, there are a lot of teams in great positions to score four or more goals and this makes things very interesting for GPP (guaranteed prize pool) tournament play. Speaking of tournaments, FanDuel has their usual array of tournaments posted at various price points, including the third of 12 qualifiers for the World Fantasy Hockey championship, with a Live Final in Las Vegas and a chance to win $50,000. The qualifier is only $5 tonight and it’s definitely worth it to enter at least once for an opportunity to win much more.
Today’s article will provide analysis for the teams in action, top teams to target for daily fantasy, recommend players for FanDuel, and even sample lineups that could be used to help build ones for tonight’s play.
Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey
St. Louis Blues – The Blues are very deep and very talented, and are the clear #1 team to target tonight. Expect St. Louis players to be heavily owned tonight in daily fantasy, and you’ll want to play some Blues as well. A minimum of two Blues players should be in your cash game lineups (including a forward from each of the top two lines), and either of their top lines could be stacked for tournament teams, along with either of their top two defensemen - Kevin Shattenkirk and Alex Pietrangelo.
Recommended Plays for FanDuel
TOP LEFT WINGER PLAYS
Andrew Ladd ($7,100) – Ladd is currently riding a six game point streak and has been a consistent play all year in cash games due to his point and shot totals. Additionally there have been several games where Ladd and his linemates Blake Wheeler and Bryan Little have gone off for a few goals, and this led to tournament wins for those that used them.
Alexander Steen ($7,900) and Jaden Schwartz ($7,300) – Take your pick, both Blues’ left wingers have been extremely hot lately and are excellent plays again tonight facing a weak Oilers team. Check their game logs to see just how hot both have been (along with the other Blues), and use one or both in your cash games tonight.
TOP CENTER PLAYS
Elias Lindholm ($3,700) – Lindholm skates on the Canes’ top line (with the Staal brothers) and also the top powerplay unit. He has yet to take advantage of these opportunities, but in this position it may be only a matter of time before he breaks out with a couple multi-point games. That could start tonight, as the Hurricanes face an Avalanche team that is playing back-to-back road games, and with backup goaltender (Calvin Pickard) in net.
