Daily FanDuel Fantasy Hockey Picks: October 8, 2015
After last night’s mini-slate of opening games, we have our first medium sized slate which opens up a ton of different routes to go.
There are several large favorites, and a few games that should feature plenty of offense. It’s always a little risky to rely on last year’s stats for predicting this year’s activity, but at this point it gives us a decent foundation to start from.
Look for a few of last year’s elite teams for DFS purposes – Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh, Dallas, St. Louis – to fill the scoresheets. With so many big names in play, it will be important to find value to round out your roster. It’s a good night to spend up on goalie, especially with a ton of value on defense and at center – there are so many centers to choose from below average cap salary it’s hard to pick just two.
Top Teams to Target Tonight for Daily Fantasy Hockey
1. Pittsburgh Penguins – The champions of the off-season, the best player in hockey (arguably) gets the most talented winger he’s ever had: Phil Kessel. The Kessel-Crosby duo could melt the ice this season, and the Dallas Stars are going to be hard pressed to stop them. Poor goaltending sunk the Stars last year, and while it will be better this year, it’s still a legitimate risk area for the team. And if the Crosby line isn’t threatening enough, the Stars will also have to defense against Evgeni Malkin, Patric Hornqvist, David Perron and Kris Letang. Don’t be shy about adding Penguins to cash game and GPP rosters tonight.
