Daily Picks for Thursday's NHL Stanley Cup Playoff Games

Three crucial Game Fours will take place on Thursday night. Here are our predictions here at eDraft.

Boston Bruins at Detroit Red Wings (Bruins lead series 2-1)

The Red Wings have scored two goals on Tuukka Rask in three games. Not a very good statistic if you want to upset the best team in the NHL. While Boston has not been particularly great offensively either, the Bruins have found a way to shut down the Red Wings with a suffocating defense backed by arguably the best goaltender in the world.

On the plus side for Detroit, however, captain Henrik Zetterberg has been skating with the team and could potentially play in Thursday's Game Four. The team always seems to put in a better effort when Zetterberg is in the lineup, whether he is at 100% or not, so we should expect the Red Wings to play a slightly better game if he does indeed return.

Nevertheless, the Bruins have found a way to beat the young and inexperienced Red Wings. Game Four will be tighter than Games Two and Three, but the Bruins will come away with the win.

PREDICTION: Bruins 3, Red Wings 2

Colorado Avalanche at Minnesota Wild (Avalanche lead series 2-1)

The Avs were blanked by Wild netminder Darcy Kuemper in Game Three, leading to a terrific overtime goal by Mikael Granlund that sent the Xcel Energy Center into a frenzy and put Minnesota back in the series.

Game Four is obviously huge; either the Wild will have a chance to tie the series or the Avalanche will go back home with a chance to close it out in five.

Kuemper was unbelievable in Game Three, but it is too much to ask for the rookie to turn in another outstanding performance in Game Four against a young and lethal Colorado offense. The Avs will take Game Four and head back to Pepsi Center with a chance to close things out.

PREDICTION: Avalanche 3, Wild 1

San Jose Sharks at Los Angeles Kings (Sharks lead series 3-0)

Patrick Marleau's overtime winner in Game Three was probably the dagger in the heart of the Kings' season, but Los Angeles isn't done yet. Since the home team almost always wins each meeting between these two, the Kings may be due for a win at Staples Center in Game Four.

Jonathan Quick has been less-than-stellar this series, but he will be good enough to help his Kings live another day.

PREDICTION: Sharks 3, Kings 4
