Four Centers to Start This Week

Four Centers to Start This Week
By Adam Rickert on January 23, 2013

What a great weekend! Now that hockey’s back, we here at eDraft can do our jobs and give you some fantasy hockey advice. Here are some of the centers that you are going to want to start this coming week.

Jonathan Toews

If you have Jonathan Toews on your team, you are going to want to have him in the lineup for all three of his games this week. He plays Dallas, a young Columbus team, and a Detroit team with a depleted defense. The way the Blackhawks have been scoring in their first two games, Toews can be expected to put up some good numbers.

Ryan Getzlaf

The Ducks scored twelve total goals in their first two games. They have been on an offensive tear, led by guys like Getzlaf. He had two assists in a seven-goal onslaught against the Canucks on Saturday night, and two goals against Calgary on Monday night. The Ducks face the Canucks again at home on Friday. Expect Getzlaf to get his name on the board again.

Evgeni Malkin

When don’t you want Malkin in your starting fantasy lineup? The reigning MVP is still looking for his first goal, but he has four assists in his first two games, making up for the lack of numbers from Sidney Crosby. The Penguins play Toronto, Winnipeg, and Ottawa this week: all teams that they shouldn’t have much trouble putting up big numbers on.

Jason Spezza

Spezza only had one assist during the weekend, but his Senators looked great, opening the season with two wins.  This week, expect him to get his scoring going with games against Florida, Tampa Bay, and Pittsburgh.
