Game 2 A Must Win For Tampa Bay

The Stanley Cup Final has started and this figures to be one of the best Stanley Cup Finals ever. Chicago's experience vs Tampa's youth is going to be an interesting storyline throughout the entire series. Last night game one was played in Tampa Bay and the Lightning got out to a fast start with a nasty deflection by Alex Killorn in the first period. The Lightning tried to hold onto a one-goal lead the entire game and while that will work against some teams, it won't work against the Blackhawks.

Chicago scored in the 3rd period to tie it and then just a minute later they scored to take the lead. They eventually hung on to the lead and won 2-1 to take a 1-0 series lead. Tampa knows they squandered away a great chance to win game one and now face a huge challenge to tie this series. Will they win Game two? Let's take a look.

The Lightning need to stick to their strategy from the first two periods in game one and apply that to game two. They were attacking Corey Crawford with a lot of shots and they weren't playing passive those periods unlike the 3rd period. They still need to put up more shots though if they are to score on Crawford more then once during the series.

Steven Stamkos is going to have to play a big factor as well as the triplets line if they are to tie this series. Ben Bishop also needs to be sharp just like game one. Even though he wasn't tested much during game one, he still was very sharp and kept the Lightning in the lead when they had it and came up with some big saves.

Tampa is going to have to play desperate in game two. They can't lose that game because if they go down 2-0 to the Blackhawks, this series is all but over. If they can tie this series up going to Chicago, they will be in very good shape for the series. I ultimately think they will bounce back and win game two and tie the series heading back to the United Center.
