Two big-time Stanley Cup favorites are essentially in must-win situations on Thursday night. Will either get the job done or fall on the brink of elimination?
Game Four: Boston Bruins at Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens jumped out to another early lead in Game Three on Tuesday night, scoring three goals before Boston could beat Carey Price. Things got a little dicey, though, when the Bruins scored two straight and threatened Montreal's hopes of taking a series lead before Lars Eller buried Boston with an empty-netter.
The Bruins do not want to fall down 3-1 in this series against their archrivals and will give it everything they've got to even up the series and send it back to Beantown.
Montreal has been playing with fire lately. It came back to haunt them in Game Two, but the Habs narrowly escaped in Game Three. Their inability to play a full game will cost them in Game Four as Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci will both have great performances. Bruins 5, Canadiens 2.
Game Three: Anaheim Ducks at Los Angeles Kings
A 3-0 lead doesn't mean the series is over, as the Los Angeles Kings taught the San Jose Sharks last season, but you can bet that the Kings would love to take a 3-0 stranglehold against their crosstown rivals at home on Thursday night.
Anze Kopitar has been on an absolute tear lately and there is no reason to believe that he will cool off. Drew Doughty, Justin Williams and Marian Gaborik have also played great in clutch roles this postseason.
Can the Kings take a 3-0 series lead and win their seventh consecutive playoff game? It will be tough, as the Ducks will look to give Los Angeles a taste of its own medicine after it won the first two in Anaheim.
This one will take overtime, but the Kings will take it, getting the goal from Tyler Toffoli. Ducks 2, Kings 3 (OT).
