Scott Hartnell stepped his play up last season and established himself as a valuable forward for any fantasy team. Unlike most top level fantasy players, Hartnell is not the player with the best hands or the hardest shot but he does get great fantasy stats.
The biggest positive for Hartnell is that he plays on the top line for the Flyers. Being on the Flyers top line has many perks, but no perk is greater than getting to play with Claude Giroux.
Giroux is one of the best players in the game, and his play making ability creates a lot of chances for Hartnell to get goals and assists.
While Giroux brings immense talent to the line, Hartnell is the energy player who gets to the hard areas and does the dirty work.
Playing with Giroux creates a lot of chances for Hartnell to pick up a lot of points. For the season Hartnell will get as many points as any top level forward. Along with his great offensive production Hartnell will get a lot of hits, and because of his time spent in front of the net and battling in the corners he racks up the penalty minutes.
Hartnell is a great fantasy forward that will get the stats of a poor man’s Ovechkin. If fantasy owners had a chance to pick up Hartnell during the early rounds he is a must have for any team.
