NHL Players to Watch: Martin St. Louis

There might have been a time over the past several years where you have been watching an NHL game and wondered who is that kid out there with the bright yellow stick? That energetic go getter is not a kid, but it is actually the 37 year-old Martin St. Louis.
St. Louis has been a great player in the league for a very long time. This season the Lightning still have their full lineup of veteran players and hot young talent. St. Louis has spent the past several seasons on the same line as Steven Stamkos. Every season Stamkos is in the hunt to win the leagues goal scoring title. Being on the same line as one of the best goal scorers in the game means that St. Louis puts up huge assist number every season.

It is true that St. Louis is getting older, but that is not slowing him down at all. This season the Lightning has added some pieces that could be exactly what the team needs to fill the roster. The Lightning has filled the big hole that they have in net, and added to the defense.

With the improved team, the high powered offense of the Lightning will get more points and more wins. In a draft St. Louis is a player that might not get picked right away because he can be forgotten and overlooked. If a fantasy owner has the chance to grab St. Louis in the early middle rounds, he would be a great addition who puts up huge assist numbers.
