Brewers-Cubs postponed, will make up game Aug. 18

Wednesday night's game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of split doubleheader on Monday, Aug. 18.

Game 1 will be the rescheduled game that will begin at 1:20 p.m. CT. Game 2, the original game scheduled for Aug. 18, will remain with a 7:05 p.m. start time.

Chicago, which won the series opener, 5-3, on Tuesday night, announced that right-hander Jameson Taillon (7-3, 3.48 ERA), who was scheduled to start Wednesday night's contest, will get the nod for Thursday afternoon's series finale.

The Brewers, who had been scheduled to start hard-throwing rookie right-hander Jacob Misiorowski (1-0, 0.00 ERA), did not announce a starter and could pivot to veteran right-hander Freddy Peralta (6-4, 2.60 ERA), who is 7-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 19 career games (14 starts) against the Cubs.
