Hawks 111, Knicks 102

Joe Johnson poured in a game-high 34 points to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 111-102 victory over the visiting New York Knicks on Friday.

Johnson, who turned in a 3-for-15 shooting performance in his last meeting with the Knicks, was dangerous from everywhere Friday night as the Hawks opened up a 17-point first-half lead, then held on over the final two quarters. The veteran guard went 13-for-26 from the field and added two 3-pointers, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Josh Smith contributed 24 points and nine rebounds while Al Horford added 19 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for the Hawks, who shot 51.2 percent from the field while outrebounding New York by a 46-34 margin.

Amar'e Stoudemire paced the Knicks with 27 points while Ray Felton added 21 points and 13 helpers. All five Knicks players scored in double figures, but the bench managed just 15 points as New York lost for the seventh time in nine games.

Atlanta's Marvin Williams and New York's Shawne Williams were ejected in the final minute of the game following an altercation that saw both men throw punches.
