Raptors 120, Pistons 116
Jerryd Bayless scored a season-high 31 points and hit the go-ahead 3-point basket as the Toronto Raptors overcame a 25-point third quarter deficit to record a 120-116 victory over the host Detroit Pistons on Saturday.
Toronto trailed by 16 points entering the final quarter and took the lead on Bayless’ tiebreaking trey with 1:21 remaining.
Bayless was 10-for-12 from the field as the Raptors (9-15) shot 62.9 percent from the field to snap a four-game losing streak.
Toronto trailed 89-64 midway through the third quarter before outscoring the Pistons 49-21 to take a 113-110 lead on Bayless’ shot.
Rodney Stuckey had 23 points and 12 assists and Ben Wallace had a career-best 23 points to go with 14 rebounds and five steals as Detroit (7-18) lost its fourth straight game.
Toronto’s Andrea Bargnani and Leandro Barbosa scored 22 points apiece. Bargnani had four 3-point baskets as the Raptors hit 9-of-14 3-point attempts.
Charlie Villaneuva added 17 points for Detroit, which scored 43 points in the second quarter and led 72-53 at halftime.
Wallace made 10-of-13 shots for Detroit, which shot 52.8 percent from the field.
DeMar DeRozan added 16 points for Toronto.
