Pistons 103, Mavericks 89
Rodney Stuckey scored 20 points to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 103-89 victory over visiting Dallas on Monday, sending the Mavericks to their sixth consecutive loss.
Dallas (26-14) has lost six in a row for the first time since Feb. 29-March 9, 2000. The victory gives Detroit (15-26) its first three-game winning streak since April of last season.
Dirk Nowitzki, playing in his second game after missing nine games with a sprained knee, led the Mavericks with 32 points but it wasn't nearly enough.
The Pistons, who placed five scorers in double figures, shot 57.5 percent (42-of-73) from the field. Tayshaun Prince scored 19 points while rookie Greg Monore had 16 points and nine rebounds. Charlie Villanueva added 15 points and Ben Gordon scored 11.
Jason Terry was the only other Dallas player in double figures with 18.
The Pistons took an 11-point lead late in the second quarter, but the Mavericks finished the period on a 9-2 run to trim the lead to 41-37 at halftime. The Pistons quickly opened the lead to 49-39 and built a 75-59 advantage late in the third quarter.
The margin reached 20 in the fourth quarter and Detroit's starters went to the bench for the rest of the game.
