Pistons 112, Bobcats 101
Rodney Stuckey had 24 points and 11 assists and Charlie Villanueva added 20 points as the Detroit Pistons registered a 112-101 victory over the host Charlotte Bobcats on Sunday.
Chris Wilcox added 14 points as Detroit (29-51) rallied from a 15-point first-quarter deficit to snap an 11-game road losing streak and hand the Bobcats their sixth consecutive loss.
Gerald Henderson scored 21 points, Boris Diaw had 20 and seven assists and Kwame Brown chipped in 19 on 9-of-10 shooting for Charlotte (32-48).
Detroit pulled away with a 13-2 fourth-quarter run to turn a three-point edge into a 101-87 advantage on Austin Daye’s 3-pointer with 5:56 remaining.
Charlotte led by 15 after scoring 40 first-quarter points and was ahead 59-50 at halftime.
The Bobcats led 68-61 after Diaw’s basket with 8:25 left in the third, but the Pistons outscored them 19-4 over the next six minutes and took an 80-72 lead on Tayshaun Prince’s basket.
Richard Hamilton scored 11 points, Greg Monroe had 10 and nine rebounds and Jason Maxiell scored 10 for Detroit, which won on the road for the first time since defeating Cleveland on Feb. 9 and for just the eighth time this season.
D.J. Augustin added 14 points and 14 assists for Charlotte.
