Dwight Howard scored 19 points to lead six players in double figures and added 16 rebounds Wednesday night as the Orlando Magic handed the host Indiana Pacers their sixth straight loss, 111-96.
Coming off a home loss to Detroit on Monday, Orlando hit 16 3-pointers in 34 attempts. The Magic (30-16) went ahead for good late in the first quarter and built a 23-point lead in the second half.
Jason Richardson also scored 19 points, Hedo Turkoglu added 18 and Ryan Anderson hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points - all in the first half - for the Magic. Jameer Nelson scored 12 points and J.J. Redick had 10.
Danny Granger led Indiana (16-26) with 27 points. Darren Collison added 21 for the slumping Pacers.
Gilbert Arenas' 3-pointer as the first period ended gave the Magic the lead for good, 22-21. Orlando stretched the lead to 47-30 midway through the second quarter and 60-43 just prior to halftime.
The Magic built an 80-57 lead with 5:47 remaining in the third quarter before the Pacers rallied. They closed to 86-79 early in the fourth period before Turkoglu had a three-point play, Richardson hit a jumper and Nelson had a 3-pointer, giving the Magic a 94-79 lead.
