Spurs 118, Wizards 94

Tony Parker scored 14 of his 18 points in the first quarter as the San Antonio Spurs took control from the outset and hammered the host Washington Wizards 118-94 on Saturday night.

George Hill had 18 points and Gary Neal added 16 as the Spurs improved to an NBA-best 45-9 and bounced back with a vengeance from Friday night’s lackluster 77-71 loss at Philadelphia.

San Antonio outscored its previous night’s total by the end of the second quarter in taking a commanding 72-45 halftime lead.

Parker scored 10 consecutive points in a 12-0 run as San Antonio bolted to a 37-18 lead after one quarter.

The Wizards never got any closer as the Spurs, who were playing their fourth road game in five nights, kept the foot on the throttle and extended the lead to 30 points in the second quarter.

San Antonio shot a blistering 58.4 percent (45 of 77) from the floor and buried 13 of 25 3-point attempts in shredding the Wizards, who got 16 points apiece from Andray Blatche and Cartier Martin in losing for the ninth time in 10 games.
