Trail Blazers 104, Mavericks 101
LaMarcus Aldridge scored 30 points and Brandon Roy added 21 as the host Portland Trail Blazers earned a 104-101 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.
The Trail Blazers (38-29) moved percentage points ahead of New Orleans for sixth place in the Western Conference. The loss dropped the Mavericks (47-20) a half-game behind the idle Los Angeles Lakers for second place in the West.
Aldridge, who also had eight rebounds, continued his strong play against the Mavericks with his third game of 30-plus points vs. Dallas.
Roy scored the final four points for the Blazers, who eked out the victory when Dirk Nowitzki missed a 23-footer at the buzzer. Nowitzki led Dallas with 28 points and 11 rebounds.
Shawn Marion, starting for the injured Peja Stojakovic, had 18 points on 9-of-15 shooting for Dallas. Roddy Beaubois scored 16 points and Jason Kidd had 14 assists.
Wesley Matthews scored 18 points for Portland.
