Rockets 99, Clippers 78
Kevin Martin, Chase Budinger and Brad Miller all scored 16 points in a balanced effort to help the Houston Rockets coast to a 99-78 home victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
Goran Dragic finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds while Chuck Hayes added 12 and 13 for Houston (42-38), which played without starters Luis Scola and Kyle Lowry.
The Clippers (31-50) matched their season-low point total and shot just 34.7 percent in losing their third in a row.
This one was never much of a contest. The Rockets went ahead by seven after one quarter and used a 21-4 run midway through the second to open up a 52-30 lead on Hayes’ layup 2:08 before halftime.
Houston held a 58-45 rebounding edge and finished with 11 blocks.
Eric Gordon led the Clippers with 19 points, while Blake Griffin had 13 points and 10 rebounds.
