Trail Blazers 113, Timberwolves 102
LaMarcus Alridge scored a career-high 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Wesley Matthews scored 23 as the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves for the 15th consecutive time with a 113-102 victory Monday night at the Rose Garden.
Aldridge scored 12 points in the third quarter and Matthews tallied 18 in the second half, helping Portland (22-20) pull away. Aldridge, who was 15-of-24 overall, scored 36 against Minnesota on Dec. 17.
The biggest surprise early was that the Timberwolves stayed close despite just four first-half points by Kevin Love. Love finished with 22 points and 17 rebounds for his 28th consecutive double-double and 37th overall.
Minnesota center Darko Milicic had 22 points on 11-of-16 shooting, eight rebounds and four blocked shots. Michael Beasley, playing on a sore left ankle, had 12 points.
Minnesota (10-32) fell to 2-20 on the road and is 1-12 in road games against the Western Conference.
Portland's Andre Miller had 15 points and 10 assists. Reserve Rudy Fernandez scored 13.
Portland All-Star Brandon Roy also had surgery on both knees Monday. No timetable has been set for his return.
