Clippers 98, Timberwolves 90
Blake Griffin had 29 points and eight rebounds to lead the visiting Los Angeles Clippers to a 98-90 victory over fellow All-Star Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday.
Griffin made 12 of 20 shots as Los Angeles (21-35) won for just the second time in nine games.
Love had 18 points and 18 rebounds for his 42nd consecutive double-double for Minnesota (13-43).
The Clippers led 43-42 at halftime but took over control over the first seven minutes of the third quarter.
Baron Davis’ 3-pointer culminated a 10-2 run that gave Los Angeles a 55-48 lead less than three minutes into the half and the lead grew to 14 points on Griffin’s dunk with 5:09 remaining in the third quarter.
Randy Foye scored 21 points and Ryan Gomes added 18 points for the Clippers, who notched just their fifth road victory of the season. Chris Kaman, who had missed the previous 34 games with an ankle injury, added four points and six rebounds in nine minutes off the bench.
Wayne Ellington added 18 points for the Timberwolves, who shot just 35.4 percent from the field. Minnesota was just 7 of 24 from 3-point range.
