Clippers 98, Thunder 92
Blake Griffin had 26 points and 16 rebounds and Eric Gordon hit the go-ahead 3-point basket as the Los Angeles Clippers stunned the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder 98-92 on Saturday.
Gordon scored 18 points and gave the Clippers (30-47) a 95-92 lead when he hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 43.2 seconds to play.
Kevin Durant scored 23 points for Oklahoma City (50-26).
The Clippers scored the final seven points of the game after Nick Collison’s hook shot had given the Thunder a 92-91 lead with 1:31 to play. Los Angeles trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half.
Craig Smith added 14 points and DeAndre Jordan had 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers.
James Harden scored 14 points for Oklahoma City, whose All-Star guard Russell Westbrook was just 1-of-12 shooting while scoring just nine points. Westbrook had eight assists.
Oklahoma City jumped out to a 15-4 lead midway through the first quarter and led 35-19 on Daequan Cook’s 3-pointer with 8:18 to go in the first half. The Thunder led 49-37 at halftime.
The Clippers outscored Oklahoma City 22-10 to start the second half, tying the contest at 59 on Griffin’s layup with 3:45 left in the third quarter.
