Cavaliers 115, Bobcats 101
Rookie Tristan Thompson registered season highs of 16 points and nine rebounds and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the visiting Charlotte Bobcats 115-101 on Tuesday for their second straight victory.
The Cavaliers (3-2) shot 50 percent from the field and are already one win away from equaling their longest winning streak of last season.
Rookie Kyrie Irving equaled his career high with 20 points in 22 minutes, while Thompson played 24 minutes off the bench. Irving was the No. 1 pick and Thompson was selected fourth in June's draft.
The Bobcats managed only 17 points in the second quarter, allowing the Cavaliers to take a six-point lead at the break. Cleveland led by as many as 21 in the fourth quarter.
D.J. Augustin had 26 points and nine assists, and Corey Maggette had 21 points and eight rebounds for the Bobcats (1-4), who lost their fourth straight.
