Gerald Wallace scored 31 points and LaMarcus Aldridge had 28 and 10 rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers stayed unbeaten at home with a 107-96 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.
Wesley Matthews scored 16 points and sixth man Jamal Crawford had 17 for the Trail Blazers (5-1), now 4-0 at home.
For the Lakers (4-4), Kobe Bryant scored 30 and had eight rebounds and Andrew Bynum had 21 points and 12 boards. Pau Gasol scored 19.
The Blazers outscored the Lakers 32-18 in the third quarter behind 10 points from Wallace and eight from Aldridge for an 84-74 lead
The Trail Blazers are 24-6 at home against Bryant all-time and the Lakers are now 4-17 in Portland since 2000. Portland had just four turnovers to 13 by the Lakers.
The Lakers, who dropped to 0-3 on the road, came out on fire. Bynum (7 of 7) and Bryant (8 of 11) combined for 31 points on 83.3 percent shooting in the first half.
Los Angeles’ starting five was 22 of 29 (76 percent) from the field in the first half but cooled to 48 percent overall through three quarters and ended 37 of 79.
The Lakers also were 0 of 11 on 3-pointers and got no help from their bench as Metta World Peace was 0 of 5 with three turnovers and Steve Blake was 2 of 9.
