Lakers 99, Suns 83
Kobe Bryant scored a season-high 48 points and the Los Angeles Lakers won their seventh in a row at home with a 99-83 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.
Bryant had 25 points in the second half and 23 in the first and shot 18 of 31. He was 12 of 13 at the line.
Pau Gasol had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Andrew Bynum had 12 points and eight rebounds for Los Angeles (7-4).
Channing Frye's 3-pointer got the Suns to 83-82 with 6:13 remaining but they failed to score from the field the rest of the way.
Marcin Gortat led the Suns (4-5) with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Frye scored 17 on 7-of-9 shooting and Steve Nash had 13 points and eight assists.
Luke Walton, in by far his most playing time this season, had seven points and eight rebounds.
The Lakers were missing bench players Josh McRoberts (toe), Troy Murphy (stomach illness) and Jason Kapono (birth of twin daughters).
