Cavaliers 101, Suns 90

Rookie Kyrie Irving scored a season-high 26 points and Antawn Jamison added 23 as the Cleveland Cavaliers won on the road in Phoenix 101-90, handing the Suns their second straight loss.

Facing off against two-time MVP Steve Nash, No. 1 overall pick Irving scored 12 consecutive points in the second quarter, grabbed four rebounds and had six assists as the Cavaliers won in Phoenix for the third time in the last four meetings.

The Suns trimmed a 13-point lead down to six in the fourth quarter before falling.

Nash had 16 points and 15 assists and Marcin Gortat added 14 points and 10 assists for the Suns. Anderson Varejao grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds for Cleveland, one shy of his career high.

Michael Redd had 12 points off the bench in his first appearance in a Suns uniform after signing as a free agent in the offseason.

The Cavaliers won their third road game of the season after winning just seven away from home all of last year. They’ve also won two away games against Western Conference teams after winning just once on the road against the West last season.
