Rockets 107, Trail Blazers 105 (OT)

Kevin Martin scored six of his 28 points in the final 31 seconds of overtime to help the Houston Rockets to a 107-105 victory over the visiting Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Kyle Lowry collected 33 points, nine assists and eight rebounds and Chase Budinger scored 18 points for the Rockets, who improved to 4-1 at home.

Martin gave Houston a 103-100 lead with a jumper and then had the ball in his hands on the next two possessions, drawing a pair of fouls and hitting four straight free throws to seal the victory for Houston

The Rockets appeared to have the game in hand when Lowry began the fourth quarter with a jumper to push the lead to 86-76.

But Portland stormed back quickly, getting a 3-pointer from Jamal Crawford and two baskets from LaMarcus Aldridge to chop it to 86-83. The Blazers would extend that run out to 17-4, taking the lead when Crawford was fouled on a 3-point attempt and buried all three free throws.

Portland held a 95-94 edge with 30 seconds left when Lowry put Houston back on top, draining a 3-pointer.

Aldridge’s 17-foot jumper with 22 seconds left forced overtime.

Nicolas Batum scored 29 points off the bench to lead Portland, which has dropped three straight.
