Paul Millsap scored 16 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Utah Jazz to a 106-96 victory over the host Denver Nuggets on Sunday.
Gordon Hayward scored 19 points and Al Jefferson added 18 points and 12 rebounds for Utah, which posted its seventh win in eight games.
Danilo Gallinari and Nene scored 18 points apiece and Arron Afflalo added 16 points for Denver, which dropped to 6-2 at home.
The Nuggets trailed by just two points early in the fourth quarter before Millsap took over and scored 14 consecutive points for Utah.
Millsap scored three consecutive baskets to give the Jazz an 87-79 lead. He culminated his scoring spree with a 17-footer baseline jumper to give the Jazz a 95-83 advantage with 5:06 remaining.
Millsap made 12 of 19 shots and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Denver shot 42.7 percent from the field. The Nuggets were shooting an NBA-best 49.2 entering the contest.
Ty Lawson added 13 points and eight assists for Denver.
Utah’s Derrick Favors left the contest with an ankle injury and Denver’s Rudy Fernandez departed after aggravating an Achilles’ tendon injury.
