Hawks 107, Pistons 101 (OT)

Joe Johnson scored a season-high 30 points, 28 coming after the first half, as the Atlanta Hawks defeated the host Detroit Pistons 107-101 in overtime on Friday.

The Pistons saw a six-point lead with 33.9 seconds evaporate after Johnson hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 87 with 1.9 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and force overtime.

Marvin Williams and Josh Smith led the way in extra frame nailing clutch three-point shots down the stretch helping Atlanta score 20 points in overtime.

Williams collected 22 points and eight rebounds to help Atlanta improve to 14-6.

Greg Monroe had 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Pistons in a losing cause.

Jeff Teague left the game with a sprained right ankle in the third quarter after landing awkwardly on a layup attempt.

Tayshaun Prince didn't play for Detroit due to an unspecified family matter.
