Wizards 102, Bobcats 99

JaVale McGee scored 22 points, leading Washington to a 102-99 win over Charlotte for the Wizards' first road win of the season Saturday night.

McGee hit the go-ahead basket, a running hook shot in the lane, basket with 4:24 remaining to break a 94-94 tie.

Byron Mullens scored a career-high 23 points for Charlotte, but missed a game-tying 3-pointer at the buzzer.

The Wizards (4-16) won on the road for the first time since April 3 of last season, also against the Bobcats. Washington has won two of three under interim coach Randy Wittman, who replaced the fired Flip Saunders on Tuesday. The Wizards defeated the Bobcats the following night.

Charlotte (3-18) has lost eight straight games for the first time since Feb. 24-March 10, 2007.

Nick Young scored 21 points for the Wizards, who placed six players in double figures. John Wall had 13 points, including his first 3-pointer of the season, and 10 assists.

Charlotte rookie Kemba Walker recorded his first triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Bobcats played without starting guards D.J. Augustin (toe) and Gerald Henderson (back).
