Jazz 93, Trail Blazers 89
Paul Millsap scored 19 points and the short-handed Utah Jazz rallied to defeat the visiting Portland Trail Blazers 93-89 on Monday.
The Jazz (12-7) played without starting center Al Jefferson (sore right ankle) and shooting guard Raja Bell (strained right abductor).
Trailing 79-74 with 9:10 remaining in the game, Utah scored 13 consecutive points. Millsap's jumper with 6:26 left put the Jazz ahead for good 80-79. It was Utah's first lead since early in the game.
The Jazz went ahead 87-79, but Portland cut the margin to 89-87 and had a chance to tie game. Nicolas Batum, who hit four 3-pointers in the quarter, sustained a leg injury while driving to the basket with 19.9 seconds remaining and had to be helped from the floor.
Gordon Hayward's free throw with 13.3 seconds left gave Utah a three-point lead. Wesley Matthews' basket with 5.6 seconds left cut the lead to one, but the Jazz put the game away at the foul line.
LaMarcus Aldridge scored 25 points to lead Portland (12-9).
