76ers 99, Cavaliers 84

Jrue Holiday had 20 points and Lou Williams had 19 off the bench as the Philadelphia 76ers used a big second quarter to hammer the injury-depleted Cavaliers 99-84 Saturday night at Cleveland.

The Cavaliers were playing their first game without center Anderson Varejao, who was diagnosed with a fractured wrist earlier in the day. He is expected to miss at least a month, although the team refused to offer an official timeline until next week.

The Cavaliers were without three starters in all, including guards Kyrie Irving (concussion) and Anthony Parker (back).

The Cavaliers managed just one field goal through the first 4 1/2 minutes of the second quarter, allowing the Sixers to extend a two-point advantage to 39-23 with 7:33 left in the first half. The lead grew to 21 and the Sixers weren’t challenged in the second half.

Antawn Jamison had 20 points and Ramon Sessions had 19 points and eight assists for the Cavaliers, who have dropped three of four.
