Heat 90, Magic 78

HEAT 90, MAGIC 78: LeBron James had 25 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists as host Miami avenged an earlier loss to Orlando with a dominant performance Sunday afternoon.

James shot 9 of 14 from the field and added a pair of steals for the Heat, who won their sixth in a row while improving to 13-2 at home. It evened the head-to-head series at a game apiece after the Magic won by 13 in Orlando earlier this month.

Dwight Howard's 12 points and 15 rebounds paced the Magic, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end in the opener of a five-game road trip. J.J. Redick added 17 points on the strength of five 3-pointers.

Dwyane Wade's 19 points lifted the Heat to a 43-31 halftime lead, aided by a 19-4 Miami run to end the second quarter. James had just nine at the break but added 10 in the pivotal third quarter, including a tough driving layup with 4:39 remaining that put the Heat up by 14.

Orlando closed to within single digits with less than two minutes remaining in the frame, but Shane Battier knocked down a late 3-pointer and Udonis Haslem added a long jumper at the buzzer as Miami enjoyed a 70-54 advantage entering the fourth.

Bosh knocked down a long jumper with eight minutes remaining to extend the lead to 20, and the Magic never challenged again.

Wade led the Heat with 27 points while Bosh added eight points and nine rebounds.
