Knicks 99, Hawks 82

KNICKS 99, HAWKS 82: Jeremy Lin and Carmelo Anthony looked plenty comfortable together, combining for 32 points and 12 assists as New York bounced back by handing stumbling Atlanta its third straight loss.

Lin led the way with 17 points and nine assists and Anthony poured in 15 points in 27 minutes for the Knicks, who climbed back to .500 at 17-17.

New York took over early, ending the first quarter with a 16-0 burst and never looking back. The Knicks were out front, 60-35, at the break and pushed the lead to 30 points early in the third when Lin grabbed an offensive rebound and found Anthony for a 3-pointer.

The Knicks spread the points around, getting 17 from Steve Novak, 16 from Landry Fields and 12 from J.R. Smith as the bench took over in the final quarter.

Amar'e Stoudemire was held to seven points on 3-for-8 shooting but chipped in 10 rebounds and spent less than 25 minutes on the floor.

Jeff Teague scored 18 points for the Hawks, who were without All-Star Joe Johnson due to a knee injury.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta has lost eight of 11 games this month and is averaging 79.3 points during its three-game slide … The Hawks shot 39.5 percent from the floor … The Knicks will have a chance to go into the All-Star break over .500, when they visit the Miami Heat on Thursday.
