Heat 119, Nuggets 116
Chris Bosh recorded 40 points for his highest scoring output as a member of Miami and Ray Allen converted a pivotal 4-point play with 6.7 seconds left as the host Heat slipped past winless Denver.
Bosh connected on 15-of-22 shots from the field and 9-of-10 from the line to fall just four points shy of his career high, which was set versus Milwaukee on Jan. 20, 2010 when he played for Toronto.
After Andre Iguodala's 20-footer gave Denver a 116-115 lead, Allen answered with a 3-pointer from the left corner with 6.7 seconds remaining. Corey Brewer was whistled for the foul, and the veteran calmly sank the free throw to cap the scoring.
Allen connected on 6-of-10 shots from behind the arc en route to 23 points and LeBron James added 20 for the Heat.
Iguodala and Kenneth Faried scored 22 points for the Nuggets, who have limped to an 0-3 start for the first time in six years.
