Pistons 85, Hawks 84

Austin Daye scored 16 of his 20 points in the first half and Greg Monroe collected 18 points and nine rebounds as host Detroit held off a furious Atlanta rally to push its season-long win streak to four games.

Jason Maxiell recorded his second double-double in three games with 10 points and 10 boards as the Pistons avenged their only loss in the past seven games, a 126-119 double-overtime setback Dec. 26 in Atlanta.

Josh Smith scored 20 points and Al Horford chipped in 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Hawks, who trailed by as many as 19 in the second half and were down 83-66 with seven minutes left before a 16-0 run pulled them within one.

Horford seemingly tied it at 85 on a 3-pointer with 5.6 seconds left, but it was ruled that Horford's foot was on the arc after a video review. Atlanta's Lou Williams had 17 points and eight assists, but he misfired on the potential winning shot at the buzzer.

Detroit used a 13-0 run bridging the first and second quarters to build a 14-point lead and took a 51-36 advantage into halftime.
