Hornets 114, Kings 105: Ryan Anderson scored 17 of his 27 points in the second quarter as New Orleans held on to beat visiting Sacramento.

Anderson knocked down seven 3-pointers for the Hornets, who prevailed for just the seventh time in 21 home games. Greivis Vasquez added 19 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds while Eric Gordon poured in 16 points in the win.

DeMarcus Cousins racked up 29 points and 13 rebounds for the Kings, who finished 1-2 on their three-game road trip. Isaiah Thomas had 20 points and Tyreke Evans added 16.

Anderson's second-quarter scoring barrage - highlighted by four 3-pointers in a span of less than three minutes - guided the Hornets to a 64-39 halftime lead. The Kings caught fire in the third, with Cousins scoring eight straight Sacramento points early and Evans converting three layups during a 17-0 run that trimmed the deficit to 87-76 entering the fourth.

Five straight Kings points early in the final period made it a 10-point game, but Anderson responded with back-to-back 3s to stretch the advantage to 97-83. A Vasquez 3-pointer stemmed a Sacramento rally with 2:10 remaining, and Anderson hit a jumper in the final minute to put the game away.
