Warriors 105, Pistons 97
Stephen Curry collected 31 points and eight assists as Golden State handed visiting Detroit its seventh straight loss.
David Lee added 20 points and 15 rebounds and Jarrett Jack had 19 points off the bench for the Warriors, who have won back-to-back games to improve to 4-2 on their seven-game homestand.
Rodney Stuckey scored 22 points and Kyle Singler had 17 as the Pistons failed to notch their first win this month. Detroit will close out a four-game western swing at Portland on Saturday.
Golden State turned in its best defensive performance in Monday’s 92-63 win over the New York Knicks and started out the same way against the Pistons, bursting out to a 23-11 lead in the first 8:12. Andrew Bogut had two of his three blocks in that span.
Detroit fought back to within 28-20 to end the first quarter and took advantage of the Warriors’ bench to narrow the gap more at the beginning of the second. The Pistons took their first lead on Singler’s jumper with 3:55 left in the half and went into the break knotted at 50.
Curry highlighted an 11-2 run with his fifth 3-pointer late in the third quarter and hit a pair of free throws with 1:02 remaining in the period to give Golden State an 80-68 cushion.
Detroit came as close as 80-77 early in the fourth but never managed to take back the lead. Bogut collected 10 rebounds and made his biggest impact on the defensive end by helping to hold Pistons center Greg Monroe to 4-of-16 shooting.
