Monta Ellis scored 26 points and Samuel Dalembert added a season-high 18 points to go with 12 rebounds as Dallas remained unbeaten at home.
Dirk Nowitzki also scored 18 points as the Mavericks improved to 7-0 at home. DeJuan Blair contributed 11 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
Marvin Williams scored 19 points and Jeremy Evans added a season-best 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting for Utah, which dropped to 0-8 on the road. Derrick Favors and Gordon Hayward added 13 points for the Jazz, who have lost five straight games and slipped to 1-13 overall.
Utah recovered from a 28-point second-quarter deficit to pull within 90-85 on Favors’ basket with 4:41 remaining. Jose Calderon drained a 3-pointer and Nowitzki scored the final five points of a 10-2 burst as the Mavericks boosted the lead to 100-87 with 2:33 left and staved off the charge.
Dallas shot 59.1 percent in the first quarter while taking a 31-18 lead and stretched the lead to 54-26 late in the second quarter. The Mavericks led 58-34 at halftime and Utah narrowed the gap to 16 entering the fourth.
