Pacers 90, Heat 84
Roy Hibbert led the way with 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting as host Indiana took control in the second half and knocked off Miami.
Paul George scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half and David West added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Pacers, who lost to the Heat in seven games in the Eastern Conference finals last spring. Lance Stephenson contributed 12 points, including a breakaway dunk in the final seconds that put it away.
LeBron James collected 17 points, 14 rebounds and six assists as Miami fell for the third time in five games. Dwyane Wade added 17 points and Chris Bosh scored 12 for the Heat.
The Pacers took their first lead when Hibbert’s three-point play made it 58-57 midway through the third quarter and got a pair of 3-pointers from George in the final 95 seconds of the period to take a 68-64 lead into the fourth. Miami drew within two points four times in the first five minutes of the final stanza but never got back the lead, falling behind 81-72 on George’s 3-pointer with 5:18 left and failing to get closer than five points the rest of the way.
The Heat came out strong and led by as many as 13 points in the first half before settling for a 47-40 lead at the break. George could not get anything going before the break and had more turnovers (five) than points, rebounds and assists combined (three) in the first 24 minutes.
