Jared Sullinger scored 19 points and Courtney Lee added 18 as host Boston knocked off New York.
Avery Bradley drained the go-ahead 3-pointer as part of a 13-point effort as the Celtics defeated the Knicks for the second time in six days. Brandon Bass added 10 points and eight rebounds for Boston, which overcame 16 turnovers to post the victory.
Carmelo Anthony scored 26 points and Andrea Bargnani added 22 for New York, which has lost 12 of 15 games. Amar’e Stoudemire contributed 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting for the Knicks.
New York had an 11-point lead early in the fourth quarter before the Celtics rattled off 10 consecutive points. Bradley drained a 3-pointer to give Boston an 86-84 with 2:38 remaining and Jeff Green later banked in a short driving shot to make it a two-possession game with 9.5 seconds left.
Sullinger had 17 first-half points and Boston led by as many as 17 in the second quarter before settling for a 54-48 lead at the break. The Knicks held the Celtics to 14 third-quarter points to take a 73-68 advantage into the final stanza.
