Mirza Teletovic scored 20 points while Mason Plumlee contributed 17 points and 11 rebounds as Brooklyn outlasted visiting Orlando.
Joe Johnson recorded 17 points and Deron Williams had 16 for the Nets, who moved two games ahead of Washington for fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Brooklyn made 12-of-29 from behind the 3-point arc and had a 43-31 edge on the glass to snap a two-game slide.
Tobias Harris led the way with 18 points off the bench as the Magic dropped their ninth straight on the road. Victor Oladipo collected 14 points and Andrew Nicholson had 12 while Maurice Harkless and Kyle O’Quinn chipped in 10 each for Orlando, which finished 20 turnovers that led to 26 Brooklyn points.
Oladipo made all three of his 3-point attempts in the first half and scored 12 as Orlando led by as much as eight before settling for a 49-46 edge at intermission. Brooklyn ran off 15 straight points, highlighted by consecutive 3-pointers by Teletovic, Johnson and Williams, to take a 70-59 lead late in the third quarter.
The Magic trailed by nine to start the fourth before dunks by Nicholson and E’Twaun Moore cut their deficit to 87-81 with 5:26 to go. Marcus Thornton followed with a 3-pointer and Williams drained a pair of free throws to push the lead back to 11 and Orlando could not get closer than eight the rest of the way.
