Paul Millsap scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting to lead the way as Atlanta crushed visiting Charlotte.

Kyle Korver went 4-of-5 en route to 12 points and Al Horford scored 11 on 5-of-6 shooting as the Hawks did not have a starter go longer than 24 minutes while winning for the fourth time in five games. Jeff Teague handed out 10 assists and Mike Scott scored 14 points to pace the reserves for Atlanta, which was up by 36 points at the half and coasted the rest of the way.

Gerald Henderson led the starters with 14 points for the Hornets, who have dropped nine straight games. Rookie P.J. Hairston scored a season-high 15 points off the bench as Charlotte dropped to 1-8 on the road.

The Hawks, who held the New Orleans Pelicans to 28 first-half points in a win on Friday, turned the same trick against the Hornets. Korver’s 3-pointer gave Atlanta a 16-6 lead and Schroder hit a pair from beyond the arc as the Hawks bridged the first and second quarters with a 20-0 run to take a 41-17 lead.

Atlanta closed the second quarter with a 12-0 spurt to make the advantage 64-28 at the break, and Korver’s 3-pointer with 8:11 left in the third made it a 44-point gap. The Hawks pulled all the starters with 3:15 left in the third and let the bench finish it off.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta’s 36-point lead at halftime was its largest at the break in 25 years. … Charlotte F Marvin Williams (shoulder) sat out his second straight and Cody Zeller went 0-of-6 from the floor while starting in his place. … The Hornets shot 33 percent, including 5-of-23 from 3-point range, while the Hawks shot 52.2 percent (12-of-23 from beyond the arc).
