Bucks 108, Warriors 95
MILWAUKEE - Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a triple-double, Greg Monroe had 28 points and the Milwaukee Bucks did something no team has done yet this season: they defeated the Golden State Warriors, 108-95 on Saturday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
Fresh off the heels of a double-overtime victory in Boston, Golden State brought its NBA-record 24-0 start into the game but couldn't find a rhythm against Milwaukee. The Warriors shot just 40.9 percent from the field and only 6-for-26 from beyond the arc.
Milwaukee, meanwhile, played its best game of a frustrating season, shooting just a shade under 50 percent from the field and knocking down 6 of 14 3-point attempts.
Shooting guard O.J. Mayo contributed four of those as part of an 18-point effort. Forward Jabari Parker scored 19 but Antetokounmpo's 11 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists and Monroe's presence on both ends of the court set the tone for the Bucks.
Stephen Curry led Golden State (24-1) with 28 points, while forward Draymond Green added 24.
Milwaukee used a 10-0 run in the first quarter to go up 14-5 and held the lead for the rest of the first half.
Golden State shot just 37.5 percent over the first two quarters and missed 11 of 13 3-point attempts. As a result, the Warriors trailed by 11 at the break.
The Bucks led by as many as 14 in the third before the Warriors charged back and made it a one-point game on a Brandon Rush dunk with 5:11 left in the quarter, capping off a 13-5 run.
A fourth foul sent Monroe to the bench late in the quarter and Golden State took advantage of John Henson, again making it a one-possession game. The Warriors outscored Milwaukee, 29-21 during the third, but still trailed 80-77 heading into the fourth and the Bucks opened the quarter with an 11-2 run to regain control.
Shooting guard Klay Thompson returned to the lineup and finished with 12 points.
