Wild 5, Ducks 1
Kyle Brodziak recorded a goal and two assists as the Minnesota Wild erased an early deficit and rolled to a 5-1 home victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
Captain Mikko Koivu, Matt Cullen, Eric Nystrom and All-Star Martin Havlat also scored while Niklas Backstrom made 29 saves for the Wild, who have won five of six overall at home and five straight against the Ducks at the Xcel Energy Center.
Anaheim All-Star Corey Perry extended his point streak to seven games 3 1/2 minutes into the game with his 30th goal of the season. Minnesota took over from there as Koivu halted a nine-game goalless drought 91 seconds later and Cullen beat Curtis McElhinney on a shorthanded breakaway with 4:53 remaining in the opening period.
Nystrom and Brodziak scored 27 seconds apart in the middle session to build a comfortable three-goal lead. Nystrom converted a power-play chance at 13:32 and Brodziak batted in a rebound from the doorstep moments later for his 12th goal of the season.
Brodziak set up Havlat's man-advantage tally late in the third to complete his second three-point effort of the campaign.
McElhinney stopped 21 shots for the Ducks, who had their six-game road winning streak snapped.
